today is the start of my blog! i’ve been wanting to get back into the “old web” feeling of webrings and ultra custom personal pages, plus the lower pressure to post frequently that modern social media often demands of artists and creators. i’ve wanted a place i can share my work, and work that inspires me, without feeling like i have to censor myself as much as i might on the centralized hub of the internet. i’ve wanted to just be… me! and i’ve wanted to uplift the other artists and writers i know, share their projects and gush about my admiration for them… there’s a lot of things you can do with a personal website! i don’t want to feel like i have to have a super polished portfolio for business purposes either – i just want to be a nerd sharing my art on the internet again, recapture that feeling from when i was young. i want the web equivalent of bringing back old zine culture. i want to cover it in stickers and stamps and make it feel lived in. i’m rambling and this is like, super unedited and train of thought. but i think that’s also part of the energy i want for this blog. i want it to be relaxed and low pressure…
